INVITATION FOR BIDS The Town of Adams, Massachusetts, acting through its Community Development Department, invites sealed bids for: RESURFACING OF STREETS, RECONSTRUCTION OF SIDEWALKS, AND RELATED WORK The proposed work consists of roadway and sidewalk improvements on Cherry Street, Smith Street and Randall Street in Adams. Work includes pavement milling and overlay, cement concrete sidewalk, minor drainage improvements, new pavement markings, signs, and other associated work. No telephone calls will be accepted as questions must be in writing. Email is an acceptable form. Any questions regarding the project must be submitted in writing by noon (12:00 PM) on June 24, 2026. Verbal responses are not valid. If necessary, a response to all questions submitted in writing will be provided in the form of an Addendum to all bidders of record. Bid documents, including Details and Specifications for the proposed work, may be obtained electronically on or after June 10, 2026, by contacting the Community Development Department at 413-743-8300 x127 or via email at kbelanger@town.adams.ma.us. Bids will be accepted at the Town Administrator's Office, 8 Park Street, 2nd Floor, Adams, MA 01220 until 3:00 PM Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at which time they will be publicly opened and read. Contractors must be pre-qualified by MassDOT, Highway Division in the Highway Construction category of work in accordance with 720 CMR 5.00, Prequalification of Contractors by MassDOT. All work must be performed as per MassDOT specifications and procedures. Bids received by Contractors not on the official contractor list issued by the MassDOT Prequalification Office will not be considered qualified, unless a waiver is granted by MassDOT. Minimum wage rates as determined by the MA Department of Workforce Development under the provisions of M.G.L. c. 149, 26 to 27D, as amended, apply to this project. The bidding and award of this Contract will be under the provisions of MGL. c. 30, 39M. Complete instructions for filing Bids are included in the Instructions for Bidders. Each Bid shall be accompanied by a Bid Bond or certified check in the amount of five percent (5%) of the Bid Total. Bidders must use the approved bid form and mark: "ADAMS BID #26-001: RESURFACING OF STREETS, RECONSTRUCTION OF SIDEWALKS, AND RELATED WORK" on the outside of the sealed envelope. Quantities shown on the Bid Form are approximate only and will be used for comparison of bids and to set the amount of the Bid Deposit. The Town of Adams reserves the right to waive any informality and to reject any or all bids if deemed to be in the best interest of the Town.
