TOWN OF GREAT BARRINGTON - INVITATION FOR BID WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT CHEMICALS In accordance with MGLc.30B, the Town of Great Barrington, acting through its Chief Procurement Officer and in conjunction with the Wastewater Treatment Plant/DPW, invites sealed bids from companies to provide and deliver chemicals for use by the Wastewater Treatment Plant for the period July 1, 2026 to June 30, 2027, and with 2 year renewal option. NEEDED CHEMICALS include Potassium Permanganate, Sodium Bisulfite, and Sodium Hypochlorite. A Bid Proposal Package for this project, which contains detailed specifications, bid forms, and other pertinent information, may be obtained from the Office of the Town Manager, 334 Main Street, Great Barrington, MA, during the hours of 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday, beginning May 21st, 2026, or by emailing lrichards@townofgbma.gov Sealed bids are due at the Office of the Town Manager by June 18, 2026, at 2:00 PM, at which time all bids will be publicly opened and read aloud. To receive consideration, bids shall be submitted on the appropriate forms no later than the above date and time for the opening. Bids shall be in a sealed envelope, bearing the words: "FY27-001 WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT CHEMICALS" This solicitation is being conducted in accordance with the provisions of Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 30B, and all contracts must be strictly awarded in accordance with the requirements of the Request for Proposal. The Town has no discretion under the law to consider proposals that fail to comply with those requirements, except for minor informalities as permitted by MGL Chapter 30B Section 5(f). If it becomes necessary to revise any part of this RFP or otherwise provide additional information, an addendum will be issued to all prospective proposers who received copies of the original request. The Town reserves the right to waive informalities and take any actions deemed to be in the best interest of the Town. Last day to submit questions is June 11, 2026, no later than 12:00 noon.
