THE TOWN OF ALFORD ASPHALT BID The Town of Alford is seeking sealed bids for Milling and Hot Mix Asphalt approximately 1,200 tons. The material is to be class I-1 as specified in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, Mass DOT, and Standard Specifications for Highway and Bridges, latest edition. Bid price shall include all labor, equipment, and material for a complete in place product on Green River Valley Rd. (RT-71) Specifications are available from the Highway Superintendent at (413)528-6327 Monday through Friday from 8:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M or via email at Highway@townofalford.org The Board of Selectmen will receive sealed bids labeled Hot Mix Asphalt until Thursday August 4, 2021 at 9:00 A.M. In the Selectmen's office 5 Alford Center Road, Alford, MA 01230 all bids will be opened at the above place and time. Closed to the public, please call or email for results. Each general bid shall be accompanied by a security bond in the amount of 5% (percent) of the bid price. No bidder may withdraw his bid for a period of thirty days, excluding Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays, after the actual date of opening of the bids. The successful bidder must furnish a 100% (percent) performance bond. Wage rates are subject to the minimum wage rate as per M.G.L. Chapter 149 Section 26 to 27f, inclusive. The Selectmen reserve the right to waive any informality or to reject any or all bids if deemed to be in the Towns best interest. Massachusetts DOT prequalified vendors only.
