Notification of filing an NOI for Lake Garfield Annual 6ft Winter Water-level Drawdown The Town of Monterey has filed an NOI for Lake Garfield Annual Winter Water-level Drawdown of up to 6ft below normal pool elevation. Details of the proposed annual drawdown are provided in the NOI Project Narrative document. The purpose of the drawdown is primarily to control aquatic invasive plants and to manage symptoms of eutrophication that impede recreational use of the waterbody. The proposed drawdown will affect 75.4 acres of the littoral zone, approximately 46% of the littoral zone, and 29% of the Lake Garfield surface area (3,288,780 square feet of Land Under Waterbodies and Waterways).
