TOWN OF LANESBOROUGH PLANNING BOARD NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING MONDAY MAY 18, 2026 Notice is hereby given, pursuant to the Lanesborough Zoning Bylaw and Mass Gen. Law Ch. 40A that a public hearing for a proposed amendment to the Lanesborough Zoning Bylaw will be held by the Lanesborough Planning Board at Newton Memorial Town Hall, North Main Street, Lanesborough Monday, May 18, 6:00 PM for the following proposal; Article A: A proposal to amend the Zoning Bylaw, 165 of the Code of the Town of Lanesborough by creating a new section 165-42 for the regulation of Short Term Rentals. The proposed use will be permitted by right in all zoning districts. Article B: A proposal to amend the Zoning Bylaw, 165-12 & 165-41of the Code of the Town of Lanesborough by increasing the allowed size of an accessory dwelling unit to 1,200 feet, removing special permit and parking requirements for accessory dwelling units and permitting two-family homes (double dwelling units) on the same size lots and single-family homes (single dwelling units). The proposed amendment is intended to bring Lanesborough into compliance with Section 8 of Chapter 150 of the Acts of 2024 also known as the Affordable Homes Act. Article C: A proposal to amend the Zoning Bylaw, 165 of the Code of the Town of Lanesborough by reorganizing section 165-29, Signs, for legibility, and clearer language. Article D: A proposal to amend the Zoning Bylaw, 165 of the Code of the Town of Lanesborough by adding a section to 165-29, Signs to allow businesses to display one feather flag type sign per business.
