TOWN OF LEE, MASSACHUSETTS PLANNING BOARD NOTICE OF A PUBLIC HEARING Notice is hereby given that the Planning Board will hold a public hearing on Monday, April 27th, 2026 at 6:45pm in accordance with the provisions of Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 40A, Section 5 regarding proposed amendments to the Zoning Bylaws of the Town of Lee. The nature of the hearing is to present and discuss the addition of a new section, Chapter 199-9.14 Temporary Moratorium on the Construction of Commercial Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). The proposed amendment would establish a temporary moratorium on the use of land or structures for Commercial Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) to allow the Town sufficient time to study, develop and adopt appropriate zoning regulations addressing such uses and their potential impacts. The proposed moratorium would be in effect from the date of adoption by Town Meeting through November 14th, 2026, or until such time as the Town adopts zoning regulations governing Commercial Battery Energy Storage Systems, whichever occurs first.
