Town of Sheffield Tree Warden Notice of Public Hearing In accordance with MGL C. 87 Public Shade Tree Law, S. 3, the Town of Sheffield will hold a Public Hearing regarding an application from National Grid to remove or prune public shade trees on Tuesday, February 17, 2026 at 7:15 pm in at Sheffield Town Hall at 21 Depot Square. A tree-by-tree hazard assessment of public and private trees, along the main lines which serve the community has been completed. The work is recommended to remove hazard trees and prune for additional clearance in order to reduce the tree outage problems, affecting customers served by these main lines. National Grid has identified 68 trees for removal/trimming along Bow Wow, Curtiss, Foley, Kelsey and Salisbury Roads. Town trees designated for removal are marked with orange ribbons. A complete list of trees designed for removal/pruning and information on the location, size and species is available on the Town's website and in the Town Administrator's office.
