TOWN OF LENOX Notice of Planning Board Public Hearing In accordance with the provisions of MGL Chapter 40A, Section 5, the Lenox Planning Board will hold a Public Hearing on Tuesday, October 14th at 6:00pm at Lenox Town Hall to present and take comments on proposed Zoning Bylaw amendments to be included in the Warrant at the Special Town Meeting on November 6th, 2025. The proposed amendments are as follows: Amending Section 9.2, "Accessory Dwelling Unit" to revise sections to be consistent with state law, including Sections 9.2.2, 9.2.3, 9.2.4, and 9.2.5. Amending Section 8.8, "Educational and Religious Uses", to create a new "Institutional Uses" bylaw that includes open space and other setback requirements, minimum lot sizes, and site plan approval criteria. Associated changes have also been made to Table 5.2 "Schedule of Uses," Section 4 "Definitions," Section 7.1 "Off Street Parking and Loading Requirements," and Section 7.2.4.4 related to signage for institutional uses. Amending Section 6.1.12 "Fencing" to clarify that fences in side and rear yards shall not exceed 6 feet in height, while fences along a street line may not exceed 4 feet in height. The proposed amendment also includes revisions to Section 6.1.13 to add "non-residential" prior to screening in the section title to clarify that the section should apply only to screening for non-residential uses.
