Notice of Planning Board Hearing In accordance with the provisions of MGL Chapter 40A, Section 5, the Lenox Planning Board will hold a Public Hearing on Tuesday, April 8th at 6:00 pm at Lenox Town Hall to present and take comments on proposed Zoning Bylaw amendments proposed for the Warrant at the Annual Town Meeting on May 1st, 2025. The proposed amendments are as follows: Amending Section 7.2, "Signs" to comprehensively revise the rules for signage in all zoning districts. Associated changes have also made to Section 3, 4, 6.1.1, 6.1.1, 7.1.10, 7.1.15, 8.9, 8.10-8.12, 8.15, and 9.9, to consolidate and clarify signage related items and ensure that Section 7.2 is referenced throughout the entire zoning bylaw) Amending Section 8.8, "Educational and Religious Uses", to create a new "Institutional Uses" bylaw that includes open space and other setback requirements, minimum lot sizes, and site plan approval criteria. Associated changes have also been made to Table 5.2 "Schedule of Uses," Section 4 "Definitions" and Section 7.2.4.4. Creating a new bylaw Section 8.19 "Mobile Food Establishments" (MFEs), to explicitly allow and regulate this use on private and public property. Please note that MFE's are commonly known as Food Trucks. This proposed bylaw change also includes updates to Table 5.2 "Schedule of Uses." Amending Section 6.1.12 "Fencing" to require that fences inside and outside of street line setbacks shall not exceed four (4) feet in height and be not more fifty (50) percent solid.
