TOWN OF WILLIAMSTOWN ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS SOUTH STREET RECONSTRUCTION PROJECT The Town of Williamstown invites sealed bids for the reconstruction of South Street in accordance with the documents prepared by Guntlow & Associates, Inc. The project includes removal and replacement of approximately 2,800 LF (10,745 SY) of pavement, installation of new curbing, new storm drain structures and piping, new sanitary sewer structures and piping and related appurtenant work associated to construction of a new 5' sidewalk (1,260 LF) along the east side of South Street and Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacons (2 each at 2 crossings - 4 total). The work is estimated to cost $3,370,000.00. The current base price (December) for liquid asphalt is $560.00 per ton and will be subject to price adjustment if the cost of liquid asphalt varies by 5% or more for a monthly period. Bids are subject to M.G.L. c.149 44A-J and to minimum wage rates as required by M.G.L. c.149 26 to 27H inclusive. The project is subject to the provisions of MGL, Chapter 30, Section 39M. The project workers shall also be OSHA 10 Certified. Sealed Bids shall be accompanied by a bid deposit that is not less than five percent (5%) of the greatest possible bid amount, and made payable to the Town of Williamstown. A Payment Bond for 50% of the amount of the Contract will be required of the successful Bidder. Complete instructions for bidding are included in the Instructions for Bidders. A pre-bid conference will be held at the site on January 22, 2025 10:00am. Sealed Bids will be received until 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 19, 2025, and shall be clearly marked "BID FOR SOUTH STREET RECONSTRUCTION PROJECT 2025" and will be publicly opened, forthwith at the Town Offices, 31 North Street, Williamstown, MA. Beginning Wednesday, January 15, 2025, Contract Documents may be examined at the Town of Williamstown, Department of Public Works, 675 Simonds Road, Williamstown, MA, between 7:30am- 3:30pm, Monday through Friday. Contract Documents (a.k.a. "Official Proposals") may be viewed and digital copies obtained by contacting Guntlow & Associates, Inc. 55 North Street Williamstown, MA 01267 (413) 458-2198. Hard copies may be purchased for $150 per set (non-refundable) through Guntlow & Associates. Bidders must be Qualified from MassDOT to be eligible to bid. Contractors will be reviewed to confirm they are on the pre-qualification list at time of pick up/request of "Official Proposals". The Town of Williamstown reserves the right to waive irregularities and to reject any or all bids if it is in the public interest to do so.
