Town of Adams Quaker Meeting House Conditions Assessment and Preservation Plan RFP #24-011 The Town of Adams is seeking proposals for professional services to complete a Conditions Assessment and Preservation Plan for the East Hoosuck Quaker Meeting House (QMH). The Quaker Meeting House was built between 1782 and 1786 and major repairs to the building were last completed in 1987. In 2020, the Town hired a timber framer to prepare a conservation assessment of the building. The consultant team for this current project will be responsible for conducting a comprehensive structural and building assessment, as well as generating bid-ready construction documents addressing the determined highest priority needs for the building. The Town will utilize the prepared construction documents to pursue additional grant funding for construction. This pre-development study is partially funded through a Massachusetts Preservation Projects Fund (MPPF) grant from the Massachusetts Historical Commission. The Request for Proposals (RFP) is available from the Community Development Office, Adams Town Hall, 8 Park Street, Adams, MA 01220 beginning on November 7, 2024, during normal business hours. A pre-proposal tour and site visit will be held at the Quaker Meeting House building located in the Maple Street Cemetery near the corner of Maple and Friend Streets in Adams on Friday November 15, 2024, at 11:00AM.
