Invitation to Bid The Trustees of Reservations, the Awarding Authority, request bids for the replacement of a wood shingle roof, and copper flashing and detail of the main roof on The William Cullen Bryant Homestead, Cummington, Massachusetts which is listed in the State and National Registers of Historic Places and is a National Historic Landmark. The project is being partially funded with a grant from the Massachusetts Preservation Projects Fund through the Massachusetts Historical Commission. All work must be performed in accordance with the documents prepared by Kevin O'Connor Architect, 7 Cummington Road, Cummington, MA 01098 (Telephone: 917-757-6535; Email: krdoconnor@gmail.com) and meet the Secretary of the Interior's Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties. State law prohibits discrimination. Awarding of this contract is subject to Affirmative Action and Equal Opportunity guidelines. A copy of the bidding documents may be obtained by writing, emailing, or telephoning the architect at the above address. A pre-bid meeting will be held at The Bryant Homestead (207 Bryant Road in Cummington), on Tuesday November 28, 2023, at 10:00AM. Bids will be evaluated based on price, previous experience with similar types of construction projects, ability to perform the work in a timely manner, and references. All bids must be delivered by email to bwestrick@thetrustee.org and an original mailed to Brian Westrick, The Trustees of Reservations, 100 Main Street, Suite 1, Florence, MA 01062 prior to Friday December 15, 2023 to be eligible for consideration and all the grant funded work must be completed by June 15, 2024.
