PUBLIC NOTICE 401 WATER QUALITY CERTIFICATION Pursuant to 33 U.S.C. 1341 and M.G.L. c. 21 43, notice is given of a 401 Water Quality Certification application for Springside Pond by City of Pittsfield Parks & Recreation, 70 Allen Street, Pittsfield, MA. 01201 for the removal of 1,300 cubic yards of substrate from a former swimming and wading pool located in Springside Park. Written comments should be sent to MassDEP - Division of Wetlands and Waterways, One Winter Street, Boston, Massachusetts 02108, Attn: Kenneth.Alepidis@mass.gov within twenty-one days of this notice. Any group of ten persons, any aggrieved person, or any governmental body or private organization with a mandate to protect the environment who submits written comments may appeal the Department's Certification.
