Public Notice Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection Division of Wetlands and Waterways Pursuant to 33 U.S.C. 1341 M.G.L. c. 21 26 - 53, notice is given of a 401 Water Quality Certification application for the replacement of an existing culvert under Routes 23/41 and the grouting of riprap at Mill Pond dam in the Town of Egremont, Massachusetts by the MassDOT Division of Highways, Ten Park Plaza, Room 4260, Boston, MA 02116. The proposed work consists of the replacement of a deteriorating box culvert that is at risk of failure. The box culvert allows for surficial flow of an Unnamed Tributary to Karner Brook underneath Routes 23/41 and is located approximately 420 feet northeast of the Routes 23/41/Creamery Road intersection. In addition, riprap will be mortared at the base of the Mill Pond dam, which is co-located with the Route 41 bridge over the pond's outlet, as part of a turtle passage project.
