INVITATION FOR BIDS The Town of Adams, Massachusetts, through its Community Development Department, invites sealed bids from general contractors for: 65 PARK STREET ENTRANCE IMPROVEMENTS The Project will complete interior and exterior improvements to the Registry of Deeds building at 65 Park Street in Adams. The work will include replacing entrance doors, removing a portion of the existing stairs, installing a vertical wheel chair lift over a set of three stair risers, removal of a closet, masonry repair, and associated general work. Sub-bidders must be certified by Division of Capital Asset Management and Maintenance (DCAMM). Filed Sub-Bids will be required and taken for the following class of work: ELEVATORS. Filed Sub-Bids will be accepted at the Town Administrator's Office, 8 Park Street, 2nd Floor, Adams, MA 01220 until 4:00 PM, Thursday, March 4, 2021, at which time they will be publicly opened and read. General bidders shall submit with their bid a current Certificate of Eligibility issued by the DCAMM and an Update Statement. General Bids will be accepted in the drop box by the front door of the building or by mail at the Town Administrator's Office, 8 Park Street, 2nd Floor, Adams, MA 01220 until 4:00 PM, Thursday, March 11, 2021, at which time they will be publicly opened and read. Bids are subject to MGL c. 149 44A-J and to the minimum wage rates as required by MGL c. 149 26-27H inclusive. The schedule of wage rates is included in the bid documents. A bid bond or certified check in the amount of five percent (5%) of the bid must accompany the General Bid. Bidders must use the approved bid form and mark: "ADAMS BID #21-003: 65 PARK STREET ENTRANCE IMPROVEMENTS" on the outside of the sealed envelope. The Town of Adams reserves the right to waive any informalities and to reject any or all bids if deemed to be in the best interest of the Town. Minority businesses are encouraged to submit bids.
