DRINKING WATER PROBLEM CORRECTED Adams Fire District- Northeast Service Area BOIL WATER REQUIREMENT LIFTED Customers of the Adams Fire District were notified on February 1, 2026, of a loss of water pressure on services downstream of the East Road Pump Station due to a water main break. All users in the Northeast Service Area were advised by the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection (MassDEP) to boil water before using, or use bottled water, and to discard items made with tap water collected on or after January 31, 2026. We located the broken water main and made adequate repairs. We flushed the line and verified acceptable chlorine residuals and pressure of at least 20 pounds per square inch to the affected area of the distribution system. Two rounds of bacteria testing between February 2-3, 2026, showed no presence of total coliform or E. coli. bacteria in the affected area. We are pleased to report that the problem has been corrected and that it is no longer necessary to boil your water. We apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for your patience. Please share this information with all the other people who drink this water, especially those who may not have received this notice directly (for example, people in apartments and businesses). You can do this by posting this notice in a public place or distributing copies by hand or mail.
