CITY OF PITTSFIELD NOTICE OF ZONING AMENDMENT PUBLIC HEARING PITTSFIELD COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BOARD The City of Pittsfield in accordance with the provision of M.G.L Chapter 40A, Section 5, as amended, hereby gives notice to all interested parties that a public hearing will be held on a petition to amend City Code Chapter 23, Article 23-2 Section 2.2 "Glossary" Article 23-3 Section 3.218 "BESS-OD Battery Energy Storage System Overlay District," Article 23-4 Section 4.202 "Use Table," Article 23-4 Section 4.331, "Battery Energy Storage Systems, Battery Energy Storage System Facilities, and Battery Energy Storage Systems (And Facilities) in the City of Pittsfield and in The Battery Energy Storage System Overlay District," Article 23-7 Section 7.8 "Conditional Uses Subject to Special Requirements" and Article 23-9 Section 9.5, "Battery Energy Storage Systems" to amend the Zoning Ordinance to revise regulations regarding the operation of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) in Pittsfield. The required public hearing will be held on Tuesday, June 16, 2026 at 6:00 PM by the Community Development Board and conducted through the Microsoft Teams platform - access information can be found on the posted agenda or by contacting the Department of Community Development or the City Clerk's Office. The application is on file with the Department of Community Development Office, Room 205, City Hall, and may be viewed during regular hours (Mon-Fri 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.).
